What Is College Ruled Paper?

College ruled paper is lined paper with relatively narrow horizontal spacing designed to provide more writing lines on a page.

The MeowPaper College Ruled preset uses 9/32 inch (7.144 mm) between lines. The spacing is defined in the generator's preset data and used for both the on-screen preview and the exported PDF.

College Ruled vs. Wider Line Spacing

The main difference between ruled-paper formats is the distance between horizontal lines.

With narrower spacing, more lines fit on the same page. With wider spacing, each writing line has more vertical room.

The right choice depends on how much space you want for each line and how many lines you need on the page.

College Ruled Paper Sizes

Use the College Ruled preset with A4, A5, B5, Letter, Legal, or a custom page size. Portrait and landscape orientations are both available.

You can also adjust the page margins to change the usable writing area while keeping the selected page size unchanged.

How to Print College Ruled Paper

Download the PDF and print it at 100% or Actual Size when you want to preserve the intended 9/32-inch line spacing.

Automatic printer scaling can change the physical distance between lines, so avoid “Fit to Page” when exact spacing matters.
